what do you guys think about this slump he's in? right now he's swinging at everything and looking like chris davis every time he goes up there. there's even talk about moving him down in the lineup. :-t

He's a typical slow starter.

I don't make much of the slump but I wasn't very high on him going into the season either. Shoulder problems can really sap a players power. I certainly wouldn't bail on him though if you drafted him. He'll turn it around to the point where he is useful at some point.

He was solid after returning from the shoulder last year, though. I'm thinking this is mostly fluke.

it's not his power i'm worried about (he's got 3 HRs already), it's his avg (which is usually good). i watched him last night and he was whiffing at everything.

I don't care about his avg, it's early. What's concerning to me is he's striking out at an alarming rate (21k's in 61ab).

I'm just glad he didn't get moved to the bullpen. :-°

this. he is usually not quick at all to K. he's probably just having an early slump. still has a few dingers. i wouldn't be surprised to see him rake a few games to bring his avg back up. but i admit, i'll also getting impatient.

He's sitting on Thursday after an 0-for-6 Wednesday. Not too worried ... my bet is he'll be back in form in early and mid May. On my bench for now.
