Rookies are streaky. He is neither the .350 hitter his pre-slump stats suggested, nor is he as bad of a hitter as his current stats suggest. I fully expect him to rebound...he most likely wont hit for a high avg, but I think the chances of him having a boatload of doubles and a good amount of homers are decent. Hitting behind miggy, I think he'll see a fair share of RBI opportunities...that being said, the injury to Ordonez really hurts the entire team; taking a .300avg/.400OBP out of the third spot in a lineup would hinder any team.

Going out on a ledge I see... :-B

Would be interesting though to see his splits in the minor leagues. Does anyone know if he's a streaky type player who is hot very several months but average or downright cold the rest of the time?

.189 OBP Post All Star Break. Sad the kid used a wall for his inevitable adjustment rather than just slow down.

He was on a huge tear prior to his call-up, so his MLB success could be considered part of one large tear. His game logs show that he can go on prolonged power outtages and a low batting average, but nothing longer than a month.

I'd ride him out. He hit an all-star caliber level for the first half last year.

He's definitely worth a roster spot in all mixed leagues right now if you have the room. IMO, Boesch is a better own than Raburn since Leyland is not giving Raburn many at-bats right now, as he has stated he wants to keep boesch in there while he's hot.

One of the biggest reasons that he fell back to earth last year was that he was swinging at non-strikes too much, and he was swinging on the first pitch too much. Both of those issues have reportedly been worked on, and in yesterday's game he layed off the first pitch in 3 of his 4 at bats. We really don't know what type of ceiling this kid has with full-time at bats, could be 25-10 but might as well ride the stats he's currently putting up since there isn't much else there yet in most leagues.

Two or three?
Cause the season is nearly half way thru and theres only 3 month left.

Haha - forgot all about this thread. Thought reality would smack him last season but didn't think it'd whale on him the entire 2nd half of last season. ;-7
