I guess this depends partly on the number of teams in your league. I play in only 15 team leagues, and I made it a point to get walker on as many teams as possible. He hits 2nd or 3rd in the lineup, and those young guys are getting on base. I think he is going to WAY outproduce his draft slot.

+1.

I dont see any more than 20 HR power, but this kid can hit up to 40 doubles and with Capt'n Cutch hitting behind him he will get pitches. I don't think its unreasonable to predict Walker being taken in the 9th-11th round next year consistently.

On a side note, I am going to the entire Pirates home opener series for just under $20...in the first row. God its good to live in a city with a bad baseball team :)
Sean Tracey has my apologies, we all know Ozzie Guillen is an idiot. I'm rooting for you!

Too optimistic to say 90/20/90/.290 ? Hitting in front of the Cap'n?

Assuming he gets 550 ABs I would say 90/20/90 is very reasonable.

Pretty unlikely really, that's a dream scenario.

Dreams (Jose Bautista) do come true. May I ask why you're so low on him? Seeing he gets ~550 ABs and his minor league #'s, why not?

You don't pay for the dream though. Sure he could hit .290 90/20/90 but he was a career .273 hitter in the minors, hit .256 in over 1000 AAA AB and last years average was heavily BABIP driven. He also displayed about 20 HR power so that is sort of the upper limit of expectations.

Last year his strike out rate was about 19%, this year so far in limited play its been an unsightly 39%. Are the K's part of the Walker package or can we expect that to come down to 15% or so?

Pretty much what he said. 17 would still be solid from a cheap 2B.
