How does this affect Ensberg's value?

Apparantly he hasent impressed this spring, so does this bump him down in your rankings?

Arod
Rolen
Chavez
Lowell
Blalock
Young
Glaus
A. Ramirez
Teixeira
Cabrerra
Hillenbrand
Mueller

Where does Ensberg fit in now? Is he still a top 12?

doesn't affect him at all. They picked upLamb b/c the just cut John Valentin. He is going to be a utility guy.

Just a note, Ensberg is a notoriously slow starter, which is one of the reasons they started out platooning him last year. Not that ST means anything at all, but if you want to look at his stats, he started out hte spring like 1 for 20. He is 6 for hsi last 15. Seems like he is starting to find his swing...just in time!

There was an article on mlb.com yesterday. the job is his.

For me, it would go

Arod
Rolen
Chavez
Blalock
Tex
Ensberg

He's gonna be huge, possibly the number 2 3B this year.

I could really see Lamb stealing some time from Ensberg. I think Houston is going to need that lefty in their lineup. If I'm not mistaken the only lefty they have in their starting lineup is when Berkman hits from that side.

Ensberg was weak over what, 50 at bats in spring training so far? Who cares, statistically irrelevant. Lamb is a bum, there is no team that envision more than a utilty role for him at this point.

rotoworld says:

Astros acquired infielder Mike Lamb from the Yankees for RHP Juan De Leon.

Manager Jimy Williams isn't a Morgan Ensberg fan, but Lamb isn't being acquired to compete for time at third base. He should be primarily a pinch-hitter, giving him minimal value in NL-only leagues. This apparently settles the competition for the final spot on the team's bench. Eric Bruntlett will head back to Triple-A, and John Valentin could return home. In De Leon, the Yankees are getting an A-ball reliever who struck out 46 and walked 22 in 39 1/3 innings last year.

Keep in mind that Ensberg finished second only to Mark McGuire at USC in career hr's. He is a monster in Minute Maid and with that right field porch, they want right-handed batters in the line-up. My opinion is that he is in for a breakout campaign. Statline: .280avg. 33 hr's and the other numbers depend where he lands in the order. He could get to double digits in sb's too. As you can see I am a believer in this guy. I think he will finish as a top 5 3rd baseman and you can get him in the middle rounds.
