HELP GUYS ------should i punt saves, i think i can win

h2h, 1st year keeper league ,5x5- keeping 18 guys
i think i have a good enough lineup to maybe punt saves, whatta you think, i'm keeping wagner, soriano and dropping b. larson for moto to keep my era,ks/9 and whip low. and plan on keeping my eye out for any sb's in the fa pool. should i keep the lineup the way it is or trade away a name for a closer or two. i prefer to stay the way i am, i think.
-----whats my chances?????

I'd drop Larson, Harris, and Dye at least, and add 3 fringe closers. That way you have something in the way of saves. You have way too many hitters.

all crap closers in my league are taken. its a 12 team league. i had smoltz but traded him off. i check the the closer thread list often and all guys are taken. i can trade but i feel i can do fine skrewing 1 cat. ---also,
larson will be gone, harris i was hoping to keep as backup 2b and for steals. dye was having i heard a great spring and is healthy again. i was gonna pick up maybe another sp.

Even if you weren't punting saves, I'm not sure how far that team would go. JMO. Don't kill me. :-D

Punting is a bad idea...but I am not going to get into that argument again.... :-o

I don't think that team is good enough to finish in the top three if you punt saves.

we have to play our of in the right positions, like bonds has to be in lf. well i was actually thinking of moving bonds. i was thinking of taking my chances w/ jenkins in lf(good for 30+ hrs if healthy). moving bonds for a steal guy and 2 closers. what do you think? the closers will be low tier prolly like riske or biddle. what do you think i should go for by moving bonds. he is 40 and this is a keeper so i can get rid of him.

Don't move Bonds for closers, even in a keeper league. Closers aren't strong commodities in a keeper league. We all remember Thigpen's 57 save season and Mark Davis's Cy Young season, right?
