I need to pick one of these first basemen as my last guy. I like Fullmer because he is going to a hitters park in Arlington. Thomas had a great home split last year hitting 29 homers, so he seems good for at least a platoon role. Johnson has loads of potential and can probably go at least 300 20 85, but he already has back problem.s Phelps also has tons of potential...Who would you guys take and why?

After careful deliberation I have determined that you are most likely talking about Nick Johnson :-D

In any case, Frank Thomas has the most value out of those four. And he won't last on the waiver wire. I'd pick him up, though I am also high on Brad Fullmer and Nick Johnson.

I like Phelps too, just not as much as the others.

The problem with Thomas is that he is just trying to hit homeruns now so his average should slip now. However, he is hitting 4th now so with Mags ahead of him that might do him some good. What kind of stats are you guys expecting from him?

Your not going to find anyone else on the WW with a guaranteed 35 jacks and potential if things work out for 45. Can barely get those numbers from first rounders let alone WW. Gotta take Thomas without question.
