Apparently TheAlmightyAlexGordon aka Commissioner Gordon aka Alexander the Great is so good now that we don't even bat an eye when he drives in a run or scores one.

Does anyone know why Weaver's K rate went up in recent years? He was averaging a bit less than a K per inning and last year shot that ratio up to more than a K per inning. Better control? Added a pitch?

I'll be trotting Latos out there tomorrow vsCin. Pitch count be damned, just get me a Win and good ratios for as long as you can go Mat.

Usually it is pretty obvious but in Weaver's case as best I can tell it is just better location. His velocity didn't change, his swinging strikes haven't really changed, his percentages of pitches haven't really changed. Even his BB/9 hasn't changed all that much. Though to be fair almost all pitchers peak in velocity in their really early 20s so the fact he hasn't lost velocity suggest improvement compared to his age group peers.

if you add in his spring, i don't think he has posted a QS in his last 10 outings. (off the top of my head, i didn't look it up)

He had fantastic location against the Jays today. Of course, it also helped that all his pitches were incredibly effective. I haven't seen a guy strike out Bautista off the plate like he did on 3-2 in a long while.
