NYY ;-D you can't include Boston or Houston without including the Yankees.

In my mind:
Oakland
Cubs
Yankees
Boston (only bc of the top 2)
Houston

from top to bottom, on paper, you have to go with the Cubs. Oakland is 2nd, with Boston and New York being knocked down to 3rd and 4th beucase of the lack of a proven #5 pitcher.

Cmon, only 3 votes for the A's?! Zito is gonna bounce back, Hudson would have had moe than 15 wins if not for blown saves, mulder has unlimited potential, same with harden, and redman is a reliable 4th starter. Redman also has WS experience.

RED SOX all the way baby !!!

no... not really, im just kidding :-D . with Prior healthty its the Cubbies hands down- no team has five starters as good as the Cubbies. theyre followed by the A's , Astros, BoSox, and the Yankees. however, if Leiber and (especially) Kim come back successfully from and injury do well, both of those staffs are right up there.

the young Marlins staff is the wildcard here- if both Beckett and Willis build up on last year and Penny has his breakout season, the Marlins could be as high up as 2nd ;-D
Manny Ramirez....$20 million
Pedro Martinez....$17.5 million
Curt Schilling...$12 million (and a $2 million bonus)
Never hearing a Yankee fan chant 1918 again...priceless.

The question was pitching staff and not starting rotation.

The red sox because of a good rotation, good bullpen and proven closer.

The cubs have a better rotation and I like Hawkins but Borowski still has something to prove.
