My commish offered me MCabrera and Angel

for Vernon and Furcal

I emailed him and told him that it was a retarded offer and also posted it on the board to get a group laugh, he emialed me that i was a jerk for doing that, isn't it a hands down horrible offer? Am i missing something, he said if anything i am getting the better deal?

Bad offer but you didn't have to be a dick about it. You just killed any chance of ever trading with that guy.

Yeah you're missing something. :-D That's pretty classless on your part. :-t
Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey

It's not really a good deal but you dont really need to make it public either. By all means tell the other manager what you think of his proposal but getting a 'group laugh' at someone else expence isnt really called for. You might find it hard to negotiate with him in the future now...
Best to keep these things private.

agreed. But you probably hurt yourself more than him because now everyone knows you talk about trades in the open. Best to keep trade talks in house, so no one can get a read on you unless you talk privately.

Don't be surprised to see a couple of your best players on the waiver wire sometime in the future. :*)

That offer was no good, but remember that trading is a process. Initial offers sometimes are just ways to start a dialogue. Unless you've been getting barraged by crappy offers from this guy, publicly posting it is a bad idea.
