Who is the best of these sorry pitchers?

Postby zpalm » Sat Jun 01, 2002 11:38 pm

I am in a 12 team nl league and tollberg is done for the season. Which pitcher should i pick up?

1. N. Neugerbauer Mil (on the DL right now but at least he has potential)

2. J . Bere Chi (he has stunk and there is talk he will be traded but his health is good)

3. M. Hampton (he has some potential and i could pitch him away from coors)

4. J. Wright Mil (medicore pitcher with cronic injuries)

5. J. Haynes Cin (He has always been horrible but he is winning games, 5 wins)

6. J. Middlebrook SD (Has pitched ok and will be starter with Tollberg gone unless he stinks up the joint or Peavy/Howard gets called up.

If Neugebauer is healthy, I think he can do very well. Until then, take a chance on Middlebrook. He's looked pretty good so far (in limited innings), and playing in San Diego doesn't hurt his chances of keeping it up. As you said, his leash will be pretty short, but I think he's worth a shot, considering your other options.
