on espn & yahoo it gave him credit for a save i though u couldnt pitch your way into a save >???

maybve they are both incorrect

there has to be something wrong with that, cuz you are correct, he did not come into a save situation and you cannot pitch yourself into a save situation

Maybe Timlin was in the game for the 9th, and walked somebody. Then if Foulke was brought in it'd be a save situation. That's the only possibility.

that's what I was thinking, but I checked the play by play on espn and it showed that Foulke came into the game in the ninth before any batters were faced.... :-? ...I don't see how it can be a save. I think it will be changed later to a nonsave.

I watched the game. Foulke came in at the beginning of the 9th with a 5-1 lead.

Yahoo will fix it. Check stat corrections tomorrow.
Like someone else said you can go to the OFFICAL box score on MLB.COM -> no save.
