Who to start in OF

Postby chodaboy22 » Tue Mar 18, 2003 11:42 am

I'm in a 12 team 5x5 keeper league. We're allowed 5 OFs. Right now I'm starting

Bonds
Dunn
Dye
Salmon

I have one more opening. Who should I start out of

Trammel
Everett
Lombard
Hammonds
Leifer
Kapler
Timo Perez

Thanks

Thats a pretty ragged bunch of meat youve got there.
I probablty take Everett, and pray alot.

I'd have to say Everett...good upside if he doesn't snap....literally and figuratively...

everett looks to be starting and actually played pretty well at the end of last year (after I dropped him). Not a great choice but the best of a bad lot here.

Hammonds

I don't agree with the others on Everett, he's poison -- I would take a flyer on Hammonds. As long as he isn't hurt, he produces half-decent numbers.

yeah, he is poison, but this is fantasy land... only stats count, so go w/ everett, he has the best potential to put up stats.... i heard he's in better shape this year... and he did tear it up for scattered weeks when he was right last year.

unless you want hammonds putting up .270 with 8 homers, no runs, and no rbi.....
or timo perez playing twice a week,

again go look on the waiver wire or free agents...

here are some names to look for....

corey patterson
rob mackowiak (can play 3b for you as well)
darryl ward
coco crisp (i'm from cleveland and he will be numbers)

this should be a start...

You'd be surprised how little talent there is in the free agent pool at the moment. All those guys you mentioned are gone....except for Crisp, but I think I'll hold off on him.

Thanks for the feedback.
