i expect he will be good, that is why i drafted him for 2 of my teams.

while it is a good sign, as you noted it ignores walks.

my tell tale stat for pitchers is whip. any pitcher w/a whip over 1.3 will not find a spot on my roster. under 1.3 and you are aces with me.

this can backfire, damian moss comes to mind, but it gives you people to look at like jerome and adam eaton.

jerome seems to have consistently had less than 1 H/IP throughout his career, so as long as he keeps the walks down and makes sure that he isnt giving up XBHs when he gives up those hits, well then, the formula for success is there.

kind of out of desperation i have him in all three leagues. i'm not sold on the giants being a powerhouse, but if he pitches well he could be the de facto ace of the staff if j-schmidt isnt all hes cracked up to be this year.
