Dmitri Young vs. Vinnie Castilla

Post by Jericho »

I've had Young in my DL spot since the leg break (joined by Chipper Jones now :~( ). I expected a great season from him AND I love the fact he can play 3B and OF. BUT, in my league, for now anyway, Vinnie Castilla is available. Am I foolish for keeping the hurt Young and ignoring the available Castilla? Thing is, I'm set at 3B with Rolen, who's had a great start, AND A-Rod who can play that position too. And, as mentioned I like Young's versatility.

Do you guys think Young will be productive when he comes back? Or will the leg break slow him down greatly?

Is Castilla playing at his peak, and will likely settle down soon?

What do you think, keep Young and wait for him to heal or grab Castilla?

thanks,
Jericho

Wait...do you actually need the production from Castilla right now (since you've got Rolen already)? If not, I think I'd rather have Dmitri. I think they'll have similar years, though. If you run into a DL logjam or something, it definitely might be something to contemplate doing.
