ESPN ROBS CATCHER: Time to Give Craig Wilson Some Dap

Postby Madbomber » Mon May 03, 2004 8:28 pm

I was reading an espn story about top fantasy catchers and could not help but notice Craig got overlooked. Look at his stats:

Craig 11-R,32-H,9-2b,1-3b, 6-Hr, 18-RbI, 0-SB 372. Avg

Pudge 12-R,32-H, 7-2b,0-3b, 18-RBI, 2-Hr,2-SB,356-AVG

Posada 17-R, 21-H, 6-2b, 0-3B, 21-RBI 0-Sb, 292AVG

Craig has better numbers than Piazza and J Lopez. His avg is better than Posada and Pudge. Holla Back if you have wilson or feel he was slighted. this guy deserves some praise!!!!!

Give a man a fish and he'll eat for a day, teach a man to fish and he'll drown because you forgot to teach him to swim.

He's not much of a sleeper anymore this "late" into the year...
The odds of the AL MVP coming from the American League are looking pretty good.

Yea, I love him right now. I got him with my last pick in our draft.....round 33. Someone earlier almost took him, then everyone ripped on him for taking Kendals backup. I loved it. I just rode it out and grabbed him at the end, now I am riding him to the bank! Gotta love his unique look too! just don't call him Goldie Locks.

Wow, I guess he is alot more underrated than I thought. Of the 5 leagues I am in he was drafted in every one of them*. Sort of blows my mind that he would be available as a free agent unless it was a very small league. C-1B-OF eligibilty makes him extremely versatile and his HR-per-AB was great last year.

*Admittedly I drafted him in 3 of those so it may have skewed things abit.

I find it amazing that with the Catcher position scarcity, why is Craig Wilson still available in some leagues? You just dropped Phillips for him now! and he was still a free agent! You gotta be kidding me. All this guy needed was the opertunity and a new hairdue. Now watch him produce all year and help make the Pirates offense respectable for once. By the way Wilson is second among catchers in my points league, only 2 points behind Posada, doesn't that say enough!
