Waiting for Soriano....

Anyone care to guess what we can expect from Rafael Soriano?

I've waited for him to return from his little "strengthen his arm" trip to the minors to see him lose a game an still have Melvin say that he's building his arm strength back up. Wasn't that the whole purpose of sending him to the extended spring training?

Will he start, close or remain a solid setup guy?

I thought he was down in the minors after recovering from a minor oblique injury. But, other than that I have no clue on the guy and what his role is going to be for the rest of the year. Although I do believe Soriano himself said that he'd rather be a reliever...

He pitched 1/3 of an inning yesterday against the Yankees. Gave up a BB, H and ER. :-/

Raf Soriano owner here & a frustrated one at that. I drafted him because last year he was lights out, dominant whip & k/9 so id figure at least a lil of that this year. As you know its not the case he has done next to notighing, He is not ven getting in in hold oppurunities, I would like some holds from this guy & when he does pitch he stinks, ive ben patient to far but ive seen him pitch & he doesent look that hot, He has maybe a week more with me before i dump him

I dumped him long ago... like when he was sent down.

If there's any hint he'll be starting, I'll grab him...

I think with his recent problems !+) you have to sit on the sidelines for now and see how he does ... but be ready to pounce! :-B

he just recently got called back up coming into the series with the yankees. I was at the game and watched him pitch that friday, he pitched one inning, he only gave up one hit, but was hit hard every time.

He came into the game yesterday only pitched 1/3 but gave up an ER and got the loss. His stuff doesn't look that good and with Franklin and Meche pitching pretty good, i don't see him making the rotation this year.

However if you are in a keeper league and can keep him around. Freddy is in a contract year, and has expressed his distaste with Seattle. Should open a spot for Raffy in the rotation next year.
