Brad Penny or Ben Sheets?

Both have good stats across the board, so which one do I target and why?
Alan Trammell should be in the Hall

I like Sheets better, but penny's more likely to have a better season.

Interesting logic. :-D
Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey

Sheets has more potential, but he plays on a bad team and will go through ups and downs. Penny will be solid throughout the season. B/c of the consistancy Penny will have, I think i would go with him.

If Sheets pitched against the Braves every night he'd be in the Hall Of Fame by years end :-/

Yes against a team whom he owns a career 8.14 ERA, 2-2 Record and 1.908 WHIP is going to take you into the hall. ;-)

I call it the Eddings effect personally.

But on topic, I like Penny.

Sheets will have better WHIP and K's, penny will have better ERA and wins. Sheets has 66 K's and only 9 BB"s and 3 of those were on opening day, his WHIP is going to be under 1.00 most likely this year but he does tend to give up HR's and he will not get quite as much run support as Penny though Mil is hitting pretty well so far this year. Sheets is a much more mature pitcher having been in the league longer and has a much bigger upside this year IMO. I would not trade Sheets for Penny.
