Burrel is BACK!!!

Postby atuf13 » Tue May 18, 2004 9:09 pm

2 hrs. today!!! This guy is back with a vengence. He is going to hit 30 HRS. The phillies will win the east, and all will be good. Burrel was a steal in all of my leagues. I knew he was going to bounce back. He is too good to be a .240 hitter with 20 HRS. This guy has a chance to be a premier player in the league. GO BURREL and GO PHILLS!!!

I still can't believe I didn't pick him up. He's off to a great start!

I traded him away earlier in the season and my big selling point was that, we all know Burrell's homers will come, that's what the guy has always done. The fact that he's hitting for average now should just up his value a ton. Man I wish I would have believed in my own sales pitch. :-/

What amazes me is that as bad as he did last year, he could not possibly get worse than that for a big league hitter who someone thought highly enough to make the Number One selection overall in the amatuer draft some years ago. He had nowhere to go but up again. He is still young, injury free, nonreckless, and a guy who just didn't get it together last year at the plate. He now leads his team in BA and RBI's.

And sandwiched between the Abreu and Thome, his numbers should be mighty impressive by season's end. I'm glad I got all 3.

It took Bowa long enough to sandwich him in the middle between the two. I was wondering how long that would take.

Now all you need is to get Byrd when he heats up! :-D

And with the lack of good SS I have to choose from, I might have to take Jimmy Rollins as well over Julio Lugo.
