I read somewhere that when Greinke is called up and if he pitches well enough to keep a spot in the rotation that the Royals may move Affedt into the closers spot. Any Royals fans out there?

It isn't going to happen. The move to the bullpen last year is the main reason that this keeps coming up. But the Royals simply can't afford to give up on Affeldt as a starter. The vision of Affeldt, Greinke, Gobble forming the Royals version of Oakland's Big Three is enough to keep him starting. His endurance is finally back to full strength and the blister problem seems to be gone. Through thick and thin, he is going to be a starter.

Agree that Affeldt stays in the KC rotation, although I'm one who think his stuff is more suited to short stints out of the pen.

I agree. The blisters could be a problem, though. :-?

Tonight was the last straw for me. In my very deep league, I dropped him. I thought that 13-15 wins with about 150 Ks could be a reality with this kids stuff. But, the Royals' starters have won just 3 games all year and Affeldt hasn't K'd more than 4 guys in a game all year. So long, Jeremy.
