Who will hit 25+ HR's from this point on?

Postby G-Man » Sun Jun 13, 2004 11:21 am

This is interesting....from sportsline.com.

Only 12 players hit 25+ HR's after June 10 last year

Sammy Sosa 34
Jim Thome 32
Alex Rodriguez 31
Barry Bonds 30
Frank Thomas 29
Jeff Bagwell 28
David Ortiz 28
Albert Pujols 27
Jason Giambi 26
Richie Sexson 26
Javy Lopez 25
Manny Ramirez 25

Obviously sexson can be scratched from this list but it will be interesting to see who can repeat this feat this year.

I actually like your Soriano pick...he is about to get very hot IMO.

I hope I'm right anyways, I could be a biased owner though. ;-)

my sleeper for this category..... Mark Teixiera. Hes been hitting a lot of home runs in the past week. Still hasn't got that average up, but he could be a Thome like hitter (lots of power, .270-.280 average)

It's scary to think that I personally believe Teixeira, Blalock, and Soriano will all hit 20+ HRs from here on out. I am not sure about 25+, but it could be close.

I would add at least two:

Guerrero
Ortiz

and if he stays healthy *gulp*:

Dunn

here's hoping your're right b/c that is my IF and I need them to produce. So much depends on fullmer (or whoever they settle on at cleanup) and young in terms of peripheral numbers as well.

I would say that the LOCKS for 25+ are:

manny
tejada
bonds
arod
pujols
sosa

magglio is an intriguing possibility but not for 25...he is playing for a big contract at the end of the year but will have an abridged period to reach 25 once he is activated in early july. he would have to go absolutely berzerk
