This trade makes sense and would be a good trade all around. ;-)
Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey

As a Beltran owner and Sox fan, the only place other than Boston, Philly and Colorado I'd like to see Carlos go is Houston.

Beltran in Minute Maid :-?

Carlos Beltran to Houston???!!!! What do you think??

I just got through reading an article from the Houston Chronicle stating that there is a chance the Astros would get Beltran. They would give Dotel to the A's and the A's would give KC some prospects.

If this deal was to go down, what kind of impact will this have on Beltran's fantasy numbers??

Thanks for the heads up! This would sky-rocket Lidge's (already high) value. Also Biggio would re-gain 2B eligibility, which would make him much more valuable as well.

Trade rumors like this make me so happy to be an A's fan. :-D

Seriously though, if these rumors have any truth to them, I wonder if Baird and Beane are collaborating. Baird may have an eye on a particular A's prospect, but know that the A's can't give enough to get Beltran. It may be that Baird is trying to get Beane a reliever sent to the A's in exchange for Teahan as part of the Beltran deal. I love it!

makes sense, but there are so many rumors, with so many teams involved, it's hard to say what might happen.

Beltran in Minute Maid :-?

I would love to see Beltran get traded to the Sox and then decide to sign there (as opposed to NY). But as an NL fan I'd like to get to see him play in the "real" league. :-b
