Don't Look at Me!

sometimes things just turn out funny when said... or maybe I am just interpreting them wrong.

Jun 19 The Miami Herald's Clark Spencer reports Mary
Robinson, wife of Florida Marlins hitting coach Bill
Robinson, told her husband to tell Marlins SS Alex
Gonzalez to keep his eyes down when he swings.
Gonzalez has improved his batting average from .198
to .253 in the last three weeks.

what was he staring at?

Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey

Maybe if Don Baylor doesn't pan out the Mets can hire Mary. :-b

Probably looking at where he wants to hit the ball instead of keeping his eyes on the ball itself. Common problem for hitters.

yeah. i was posting this for two reasons
1) he has been batting over 300 since this observation has been made. Can he keep this up??? anyone see him bat, does he look better than he used to?

2) i though the way it was phrased was funny :)
