Thome is a notorious second half performer. Who said he would slow down?

Thome is a .286 career hitter, so the .320 he's hitting is a bit high, and will most likely come down some. He did hit .304 two years ago, so .300 wouldn't be a huge surprise or anything. Especially since this is his second year in the NL. Not too much of a surprise he's doing well. I traded him in the offseason for Helton because I didn't think he would be this hot though.

I have to admit I was certain the average would go down and maybe it still will. But Thome is in rare form and may be headed for a career year. ;-D
Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey
