What's up with Palmeiro?

His first half numbers are far below is usual averages. His OPS and HR's are down tremendously.

Is he worth holding onto? Will he come around? I tried trading him, but he's hardly worth trading, you get almost nothing.

Advise please.

He's old. He did come around some last year after a slow start, and maybe he will again. But as he's now another year older, perhaps he won't. Your guess is as good as mine, but if there's anyone in your pool who is more reliable (even if the production potential is less) I'd probably go in that direction.

I guess the Viagra isn't cutting it for him anymore :)

I just traded him even up for Sweeney seems like fair trade.

He is old. He's actually performing better than I had anticipated so far.

He's a great player but he hasn't exactly been what the Orioles expected. They expected him to hit a homer every couple of games like he's done for the past years. What they didn't anticipate is that he's not getting younger and this change of venue hasn't exactly given his career another boost. Plus I don't think Camden Yards is a hitters ballpark like the one in Arlington....
