He's looked pretty good in his rehab in the minors and it looks like he may get called up this week. What will his role be and how will he perform????

I think that he'll close and be decent.

The dude hasn't pitched in awhile, I say they ease him into it and probably eventually closing. Or Riske can suck, and they put him in as closer right away, and he gets injured again.

They would not make a change in CLers until after the AS break, I suspect. Heck, ANA gave Perival a week to work his way back in after being out a few weeks. Wickman has been out, what, years?

That's what I was thinking, after the break. I picked him on a couple of teams and put him on DL and dumped Affeldt rather than have him sitting on DL for what looks like it could be 8 weeks

Good move. I gambled on Wickman staying available a few days longer than I should have, and lost the chance to grab him in two leagues. I should have known better, with sharp owners in both leagues. Could cost me bigtime if he does well.

Wickman was hammered in his first few rehab games. Has done better since but don't forget the minor leaguers aren't as patient hitting as major leaguers. Wickman may get a few saves but your ERA and WHIP will suffer. He will walk and allow far to many hits. They are going to use him because he signed a huge contract a couple of years ago. I think they will hope he does well so they can rid themselves of the money. I won't be going after him

I would expect him to close only to showcase him to deal. Even with Cleveland's closer situation, I don't know that they would promote Riske to the job only to give it away a week or so later.

Rotoworld reported that Riske will keep the closer's job when Wickman geys back. How long that situation will last probably depends on Riske's success, or thereof.
