What the Helton?????

Postby Madbomber » Wed Jul 21, 2004 10:56 pm

Helton is suppossed to be THE MAN, he is supposssed to be pumped up by the "coors effect", Why has he been mediocre:
5/24 4 5 1 0 1 1 0 .208

He had P Wilson and Larry Walker to protect him in the lineup, is he playing hurt? Someone explain why?

He's batting like .340 with like 18 homers.

What the heck do you want?

Helton has had a great year, I think he may be slightly underrated at this point.

i dont know how you can be upset with a guy who is hitting .350 at home and .325 on the road. helton is one of those players you NEVER have to worry about. he is never injured and will get you 100 runs, 30 hr, 100 rbi in an off-year.

so just suck up those 5-7 games stretches where he hits an ordinary .250 and celebrate those 10 game stretches where he hits .400.

.338-18-58 with 70 runs and 3 steals.

You are worried about a 24 at bat stretch? Relax, I do believe you are overreacting just a bit. ;-)

He was my 1st round pick at #8. I can't think of too many 1Bs that I'd rather have in the format I play. h2h, 7x7: R, HR, RBI, SB, K, AVG, OBP.
The guy rarely Ks and he always takes walks. It seems like he should be hitting more hrs but I bet by years end he;ll have at least 30, maybe 35 (hoping). I just wish he'd get more RBIs. He is scoring a bunch of runs due to the big boppers behind him.

Don't worry, every players has his peaks and valleys each year. This is just a small bump in the road for him. Keep playing him daily.
