Bad scoring killing my ERA

Postby jdh » Fri Apr 18, 2003 9:56 pm

I am watching the Phillies/Braves game and the Braves scored 4 runs in the 6th inning, and at least two of the hits should have been scored as errors. On one, a grounder was hit right at the third baseman and he let it go right through his legs. On another, it was hit right at an outfielder and he tried to make a fancy spinning grab and wound up missing the ball altogether. This resulted in 4 earned runs charged to Wolf that should have been unearned. How could those two plays not be errors?
