Timo or Shinjo?

Postby smallface99 » Sat Apr 19, 2003 12:38 pm

Which one do you think will get the most time now that Cedeno looks like he is headed to the pine?
My money would be on Timo but is he a capable everyday defensive centerfielder?
What do you think?

I play in a 12 team NL only league, they will probably both be worth picking up actually. Perez isn't that bad a hitter at all either, but as you said Shinjo definitely gets the nod defensively.

Any more opinions?

Perez and Shinjo will be platooning in center for the Mets. Perez vs. the righties and Shinjo vs. the lefties. Roger Cedeno will probably sneak in for the occasional start, mostly against the righties. If you can get both Perez and Shinjo, and then rotate them based on who is starting for the opposing team, that would be ideal. If you can only get one, they'll only start 3 or 4 games each a week, and you could probably get more production from someone else who is playing full time.
