MLB Tiebreak

Postby matmat » Thu Sep 30, 2004 1:28 pm

There is a chance that there will be some tiebreak games on Monday (and Tuesday, if there is a three way tie) this coming week. Does anyone know if:
1) such games would count in yahoo public roto leagues?
2) such games would count in yahoo public h2h leagues?
3) any private yahoo league?

The schedule for the last week ends Oct 3rd...the tie break games would come after that so I would say no. Playoff games do not count towards regular season stats for real baseball anyway, so that is another sign pointing to no.

Tiebreakers count as part of the regular season so they would count for all.

I still dont think they will count toward any yahoo league because it says specifically that the season ends October 3rd.

ok. let me partially answer my own question (and this was said above):

1) tiebreak games count toward the regular season. I remember this from a few years back when there was a tiebreak game.
2) yahoo says that:
Fantasy Baseball runs throughout the entire 2004 baseball regular season, which begins on Tuesday, March 30 and is scheduled to end on Sunday, October 3.

3) Does that mean that if there were games scheduled after Sunday, they'd count in yahoo?

I've never seen it happen with Yahoo but tiebreaker games count as regular season games and Yahoo's fantasy baseball season counts the entire regular season. So I don't see why it wouldn't include the tiebreakers.

they say it will run the entire season, so if the tie breaker games count for the season...they should count for fantasy. It would not suprise me though if yahoo just stuck with Oct 3rd deadline. Interesting dilemma, I was kind of wondering why you ask a question about something like this because you are usually the answer man, but now I see the confusion.

If there is a tiebreaker game, then wouldn't it be a good idea to drop everyone and add the tiebreaker players on Sunday. Just in case they count. You've got nothing to lose.

Maybe Yahoo wouldn't let you drop/add on the final day though.

Games played after Oct. 3rd will be counted in roto leagues. Not too sure about H2H, but roto leagues will count. I remember this from prior years.

Note that in Yahoo's rules, the season is scheduled to end Oct. 3rd. That doesn't mean the season does end, just that it's scheduled to.
