Conflict with my New Keeper League

Postby Rico The Retard » Sat Oct 09, 2004 2:39 pm

Ok now this mite be long and confusing but bear with me.

Alrite now im in a keeper league where our draft positions were to be determined by how many correct answers we got on a set of 12 questions that we picked a month ago. So I am 1 person away from picking when the guy in front of me has been taking forever and has been absent at our league page, so i talk to the commish and he says that if he did not pick at 9 eastern time yesterday it would be my pick. Well first off i really want the number 3 pick and that is all i want cuz the only ones left are like 9, 11, and 8. So yesterday i went to my hi school's homecoming football game and i didnt get back until 12 o clock so i went rite to bed when i got home. Today in the morning at about ten o clock i get on and i see that first off the guy didnt pick in time someone in the league posted that it was my turn and this was all on friday, but i also see that apparently the team was taken over by a new manager early this morning and he just went ahead and took the number 3 pick which i wanted. So i protested and said that it doesnt matter if it is a new manager it should be my pick. So now there is a big conflict in my league cuz half of the people are saying that it should be my pick but the other half are saying that i should of picked rite when it was my turn, which is BS becuz there is no way i could becuz i was sleeping the whole damn time. I was just wondering what your guys take on all of this is.

Thanks

NOt absolutely postive I understand the whole situation, but if I am getting things correct, then I think there is no question it should be your pick. The commish already told you this; if he backs away from his statement, I'm not sure I would even want to be in this league if I were you......

Suck it up. You won't get the 3rd draft pick in any case and you'll just gain the resentment of the league by complaining.

Good advice, if you don't like the way the direction the league is heading hop off now, that way you will give the other managers time to replace you and you won't be enwrapped in the league.

Thats if I am understanding correctly. :-?

It really depends on your draft style, if I were you I would probably take 6.

1. Pujols
2. Beltran
3. Vlad
4. A-Rod

So, assuming that those 4 guys go 1-4 in some order, you'll be left with Manny, Vlad, Helton, Soriano, Tejada, Santana, or Crawford if you got pick 11. Then you'd also get another pick right away, assuming it's a 12 team league. I'd go 11th, personally.

Yes, but only if Vlad is picked twice. ;-7
