Sorry for those typos. That's the last time I dictate to the chimp.

Esm and Soop I agree with you ..

Arizona is getting a 32 year old player with a .500 career SLG ... oh and he has a check in his pocket for 8 million. For that they are giving up a catching prospect and a pitching prospect ... wooptee ..

Not sure why everybody is so down on Shawn Green.

Green is making 16 million next year! 8-o

Even with the 9 mill in cash that the D-Backs are getting that's overpaying for Green, who has put together 2 consecutive mediocre seasons.

On top of that, Green will only be going to AZ if he gets an extension. And I bet that extension will be fat too.

Shawn Green is a great guy. I wish him luck. But I think this a huge mistake for the D-Backs. I don't see the BOB turning him into a 40hr guy again.
Bluto: Over? Did you say over? NOTHING is over until WE decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? HELL, NO!
Otter: Germans?
Boon: Forget it, he's rolling.

Yeah I agree that they are overpaying, but you have to consider what they are paying for him. They already have a top 50 C prospect in Synder who is even better than Navarro in my opinion, plus they gave away a worthless pitching prospect. Just look at the Green trade as if they were signing him off free agency. Maybe foolish spending, but why not bolster your offense? Who else could they have gone after at this point?

Since Vaz is coming with a check in his pocket too ..

Arizona is getting

Vaz
Green
and Halsey ..

For basically the same price they were paying a 42 year old Randy Johnson.

Talk about Selling High.. ;-D
