Signing Drew, Kent, Valentin to bat around Milton Bradley, and pissing off the fans in the process, is not an improvement over Green and Beltre and Cora. These guys are actually going to have to take the field together for 162 games. Chipper Jones, another one of the nice guys in baseball, actually ripped into Drew for not trying. Whats going to happen on May 3rd when Milton Bradley tells a reporter that JD Drew is faking an injury. IMHO, putting Kent, JD and Milton .. 3,4,5 in any batting order is a huge mistake. Thats assuming anyone of them can even stay healthy.

Who cares if you pissed off the fans ..
Who cares if Green would have taken a cut to stay ..
Who cares if Depodesta never even offered Beltre anything meaningful ..
Who cares that La duca was the fan favorite ..
All that matters is that you saved 3.2 million dollars, and netted 1.36789642648 more Runs created per 29 devided by 162 ... times 4 plus 3 ...

Like I said before.
I'll see you at the 1st annual Kent/Bradley/Drew picnic ... its going to be a blast. My guess is Drew will have a blister, and won't be able to go, Bradley's parole officer will recommend he not be around too many fans, anger ya know ... and that Kent won't show up ..

Lots of Boston fans were pissed off and moaning about how Theo had dissed Manny and upset Nomar last January.

How are they feeling now?

You can bet LA fans will value success over chemistry, just like the Sox fans did. I will, too.

We're feeling just fine with enlightenment up in New England, thanks. But I understand your anger wrveres: I'm sure Alex Cora's chemistry is off the charts. And all the Parking Lot Attendant did was replace him with Jeff Kent. What a cheapskate!

you need to change your av back, you're confusign me.

Anyway Green was a huge waste of money and losing him isn't that big a deal. Plus, they get a prospect. They should sacrifice that for a chance at re-signing Green?

Yes, chemistry plays a small part. But having emotional attachments to playesr leads to irrational decisions. Derek Jeter at $20M for about 10 years I think, Bernie at whatever he's being paid. Sure you may lose some team chemistry by trading away players who are paid too much but it's betetr than the alternative of paying too much for players simply because the fans like them.

Winning makes fans and players happy, not having a nice guy on the team. The talent the Dodgers can get/have now gives them the better chance to win.

I will support my GM if he gives me someone to root for over at first base other than Choi.

And I will REALLY support my GM if that player is better that Choi.

WRVERES, say it ain't so buddy? You haven't gone to name calling have you (saberheads)? :~(

We should send this thread to that LA writer. Like the LA Times is a good paper anyways (liberal). Writers get more readers, or so they think, if they bash, and write negatives about the team. LA offered Beltre 6 years, he choose to leave. Choi is only 26, still a bit early to call him junk. Everybody in LA loves Green (811 ops), and hates Choi (819 ops). Green is expensive and declining. Choi most likely at 26, can only get better. DePodesta isn't the clown who traded Piazza and Sheffield. That's when LA should have been upset. LA made the post season last year. Some reward Paul gets.

This chemistry talk makes me think of my old school days (chemistry class). Btw, you won't ever find a better group a men then the 01 Mariners, or really any Mariner team of the last 5 years. Great guys, quiet, good family men, give to the community, but can't win. How about those 97 Marlins, with the thug Bonilla, or the selfish Sheffield, or the get out of my face toilet smasher Brown? They won. That prison team the (86 Mets), with Backman, heading to jail, Strawberry and Gooden, already been there, street punk Mitchell, and countless other pukes, who just ran over (wins), anyone they played. If they only had chemistry.

I love people who want their teams to be full of nice people. How about some good players, eh Simers? Seems this guy would want Finley over Drew just because he's a nice guy. Earth to Simers--Bonds isn't a nice guy, would you want him on your team?

Right, by that logic you wouldn't want Ty Cobb on your team.
