Where would you take Smoltz

Another thing to consider: If you are playing Yahoo, he will be ranked very high, by their rankings, because he was such a good closer. While most here rightfully ignore those rankings, the broader fantasy baseball world tends to draft and rank along those lines.

If you want him, you will have to move on him. He won’t be around for later rounds. All it takes is for one guy not to show up for the draft and he’s gone.

Not as ridiculous as I would have imagined, but still too high for my tastes.

Do you happen to have a link for Yahoo?

The problem is that too many people now define Smoltz as a closer, so much so that they forget how good he actually was as a starter. Let's also not overlook the fact that he has fourteen years of starting experience so I think he would know what's more difficult on his elbow. I don't actually know what kind of man he is, but as a fan looking in he seems to embody the very definition of integrity so I don't believe he's stretching the truth - oh, and he's making less than Kris Benson next season so that has to count towards something.

you should be able to see this link since it's from a public league I played in last year.
