Everybody dogs it; but I've not come across a better one than sportsline for ease-of-use and setting up your own league.
If you want just a basic 5x5 roto or head to head without anything fancy, Yahoo is good- and it's free!
Points leagues or "your own scoring" leagues I recommend sportsline.

To actually play on? For the latest news? Depth charts? Stats? Be more specific. ;-D

I used to play on Sandbox but have switched over to Yahoo. For news and stuff I use Rotoworld and Rototimes and for stats I use ESPN, Baseball Reference, Baseball Cube, etc.

For rankings (free of course), http://www.rotochamps.com and http://www.baseballdocs.com

For places to play (sticking to the free theme), Yahoo!

Yahoo's the best to play. AOL is starting free leagues too though this season. As for fantasy strategy the cafe's the best source of information. ;-D

i like quite a few sites for info like rotoworld.com which is my personal favorite plus ones like fantasyinfocentral.com, rotowire.com, and ESPN.

for playing i like yahoo since its free but for pay cbssportsline is the best IMO

baseball-reference.com is also good just for plain baseball facts and information
