Postby Lofunzo » Mon Feb 14, 2005 11:26 pm

If you were up next, who would you take in a keeper league (5 players):

1.1----Alex Rodriguez
1.2----Albert Pujols
1.3----Carlos Beltran
1.4----Vladimir Guerrero
1.5----Miguel Tejada
1.6----Manny Ramirez
1.7----Bobby Abreu
1.8----Alfonso Soriano
1.9----????

I will add that the way we are running our league, we can keep up to 5 players next year. Whichever players we decide to keep, we lose that pick in next year's draft. For that reason, someone like RJ right here makes more sense than normal.

actually, i think RJ would be a fine pick here. i think he'll do better than santana, but the problem you've got to consider is that even if you do get your "#1" pick back next year, you've got to consider that if everyone else keeps their dudes, it'll basically be a pick at the beginning of the 6th round.

on second thought, i'd go with santana if you're looking for a pitcher and crawford if you want a bat. ;-D

Well, isn't it likely that everyone will keep their 1st round draft picks? If so, why not draft johan, keep him, lose that 1st round pick(because everyone else will keep there foundations!

i also see that Helton is still left too. If you want some offense... He's your guy!

I couldn't argue with someone taking Unit or Santana but since I'm not a fan of pitching that early I would select Helton. It would be a tough choice between him and Bonds.
Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey

Manny is already gone and you probably deserve a wedgie for suggesting Thome at 1.9. :-b
