USA Today not offering Fantasy baseball at this time...

look here..it says...Due to new licensing restrictions imposed by Major League Baseball, USA TODAY will not be offering fantasy baseball games at this time. We apologize for any inconvenience. For customer service, please call 1-800-568-6288.
This is not a good sign. How many other sites are going down the tubes?

It doesn't sound definite. It sounds like what CBS is saying. At this moment they aren't taking any money or information. That doesn't mean they won't in a few days. I imagine on the 17th we will find out who is and isn't going to offer any services. It might take weeks for everyone to hammer out some kind of deal.

I think the USA Today printed an article which made the MLB look like greedy bastards, the MLB didn't like it, and now they'll likely punish them by not granting them a license.

I wouldn't worry about it at all...unless, of course, you had your heart set on playing USA Today's game.

took a trip to CBS Sportsline...

lookey here!!! all games available on Feb. 17th
USA Today gone. No, my heart wasnt set to play their games, but it shows you that a shakedown is a comin'. Less outlets to play means(probably) no more free games.

I don't think that's true.

I do think the MLB has more power than they used to, and I am not glad about that. But at least for the time being they realize that they can't just piss off the fan base that has been largely responsible for the recovery of baseball post strike.

They just didn't give it to USA Today due to political reasons....don't worry about that at all. I just hope they keep their greedy hands off of it in the future...because they do have the power to change it, though I don't think they'll do it now.

this is not news ...

USA today never had a game ... The official game of USA today was CDM sports point based game. It was CDM that was refused the license.

But, this might effect CDM's other two companies ....

Rototimes and TQ Stats

This would explain why Mr. Gallagher is pointing out that we should not listen to USA Today.

Yeah, the article from rototimes was biased. I'm not going to go crazy after MLB...yet. Let's wait until the 17th and see what happens. ;-D
My apologies. I have a nephew named Anfernee, and I know how mad he gets when I call him Anthony. Almost as mad as I get when I think about the fact that my sister named him Anfernee.

The company that has been sponsored by USA Today, cdm sports, is filing a lawsuit against the MLB and seems to have a great case. Their games are solid and the payouts are the best.

Let me recommend EVERYONE to check out cdmsports.com or diamondchallenge.com...BY FAR the best fantasy baseball options on the market, excluding Fantasy King Greg Ambrouisious's NFBC.
