I drafted Dotel and have been regretting it lately. Perhaps I should have went with Percival. Man...Dotel will have me on edge all this season. :-o

Dotel has always been a very solid pitcher until some struggles last year. I'm betting that he will be closer to the pitcher of the 3 yrs before last years bumps

I think he'll blow some saves.

He'll be a good value pick. Some people will stay away.

I'd say he'll blow like 5-7 saves. A lot of K's for a good pitcher though.

I actually like him.
Have him rated as my 5th highest Reliever.

I see something like:
33 saves
2.90 era
1.02 whip
115 K

I'm looking at 3 or 4 blown saves.

Dotel will be lucky to have less than 7 blown saves.

I thought I read somewhere that he gave up an odd number of home runs, far more than his career average, last year, and that he will probably give up less this year? Maybe he won't blow so many saves. I think you made a good choice though, I am not a big Percival fan, he is injury prone and Uggy could take his job.

dotel will be right up there with k-rod and lidge as far as Ks go, and i really don't forsee him having much trouble as a closer. i mean, he ended up with what, like 40 saves last year? what do you want from the guy??

With the A's rotation, I don't think he will get as many save opps as last year. But he will get his K's and have a better year than last year.

You can take Percival over Dotel if you think he is such a loser. I'll also email you my league ID and Password.

Yeah, Dotel sucks. Once I saw him give up a HR in a game, so if he plays in 50 games, that's 50 HRs. sucky.

Seriously, Dotel is very underrated this IMO, he has nasty stuff, gets lots of K's. He just had some bad luck last year, but I'll take a guy with that ability over some of the closers who can't K anyone.
My apologies. I have a nephew named Anfernee, and I know how mad he gets when I call him Anthony. Almost as mad as I get when I think about the fact that my sister named him Anfernee.
