"Juan Pierre to win NL Batting Title"

Postby Purple Haze » Sun Feb 27, 2005 1:54 am

Lenny Harris seems to think Juan Pierre can win the NL batting title...

Player Notes

Feb 24: He did lead the Marlins with a .326 batting average last season, but that may not be good enough for teammate Lenny Harris. On the first day of workouts, Harris challenged outfielder Juan Pierre to win the National League batting title, reports the Palm Beach Post. "If I walk 60 times, I think that'll help," said Pierre, who worked out with Harris at Dolphins Stadium in the off-season.

Interesting thought, with Cabrera and Delgado behind him.. His numbers should only improve, but can he lead the NL in Average? :-?

Lenny Harris is a career pinch hitter who flips form team to team. I think he might be the all time leader for carer pinch hit appearances. That doesn't make him an expert though...
