That, and Pujols' foot causing him to miss enough time to not count also.

Obviously it's a stretch for Harris to say this, even though I do expect Pierre to put up great numbers this year. I'm going to go out on a limb and say this will be Pierre's best year to date.

He may have the speed to play an Ichiro-style, zero power singles game. It worked for our Japanese friend (two extra base hits in... September).

I don't think the idea is entirely outlandish. It wasn't long ago that quite a few folks felt Pierre would win a batting crown or two. Of course, that was when he was with Colorado...

i would not be suprised to see pierre hit around 350 or so, but in the NL with helton, pujols, and bonds that would put him in the top 5 or so not necessarily the winner of the batting crown.....


but yea i think he can win the crown......

It's a reasonable statement to make. I see it as more of a show of respect for Pierre than anything else. Now if he would have said "Troy Glaus to win NL Batting Title" then I might start to wonder.
