for years i've been living with the memory of having him selected after his rookie week 1 on the waivers.. and then canceling and choosing (can't even remember his name... 3rd base on houston that year) instead...

The baseball draft isn't like football or baseketball, many players don't develop until they are in the minors, so many top picks never make it and many great players are drafted late.
Wasn't Piazza drafted in the 60th round or something?
My apologies. I have a nephew named Anfernee, and I know how mad he gets when I call him Anthony. Almost as mad as I get when I think about the fact that my sister named him Anfernee.
