Will Dotel Lose the Job?

Street will probably even start the season in Triple A. Dotel won't lose the job. If he does, I would think that Calero is next in line for the job. The A's have a great pen this year, and I dont see Street as being anything more than 3rd in line for the job.

Not a chance, unless he is traded for some reason.

although dotel blows so many saves, he still won't lose the job to street, Street will get the job as Oakland's closer only if Dotel either gets traded or he goes somewhere else when his contract runs out

Anyone find it odd that no matter where you go (ESPN, Roto Times, A's website, Baseball Cube) there's no Huston Street info to be found? When the hell was this guy born?

Why do you guys think he is going to be the A's closer? Street hasnt seen 1 day in the big leagues yet. He tore up triple A and the AFL but thats it. I would have Calero and Cruz ahead of him to close if Dotel were traded at the deadline.

Dotel will either be the closer or he will be traded. Just remember the A's traded Mulder and Hudson to get minor league talent because they knew they would lose them. Getting good minor league talent for Dotel in a trade greatly outweighs Dotel's presence in the set-up role. Beane's job is to maximize what little he has, so there is no way that he just moves Dotel to a setup role.
